Description

Whether your client is the landlord or the tenant, you have to start preparing for a hearing the moment you meet them. Charlene Lewin,  owner and operator of Lewin Litigation Support Services, will explore the intricacies of preparing a file for the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB).  She will discuss best practices for narrowing down the issues at hand, compiling evidence in an easy to present manner, and “selling” your client to an adjudicator. Ms. Lewin will provide an inside look into the sheer volume the LTB is facing and how other jurisdictions are handling Landlord/Tenant disputes.

Charlene Lewin has been providing litigation support since 1988. She holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from McMaster University, and an LLB from the University of London, London England. She completed the Law Office Management course at Ryerson University and the Mediation Certification at Durham College.  Charlene is an active member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. She has extensive experience in Small Claims Court and has appeared in various tribunals.  She recently became a licensed private investigator after doing many projects in that field. Charlene volunteers her services with SOLO (Small Ontario Landlords Organization), a very proactive group that has been lobbying the government for changes since 2021 and credits her success with this group to her experience representing BOTH landlords and tenants.
