Description
Although an increasing number of people in Canada identify themselves as Muslim, there remains a vast number of Canadians who aren’t really sure what Islam is all about. When interacting with staff, clients or even just the population at large, not understanding, or even misunderstanding, can lead to a reluctance to be inclusive.
The presenters will discuss the basic tenets of Islam, provide specific examples of Qur’anic Do’s and Don’ts versus cultural practices of restitution and correctional strategies, examine how the Qur’anic guiding principles fit with the Canadian legal structure, and provide some useful tips on how to manage client, and even staff, expectations.
Presenters: Atiya Ahsan, an independent Financial Advisor and inter-faith public speaker, and Asiya Khan, a Mississauga-based lawyer practicing family, immigration, business and real estate law
This webinar is accredited for 60 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion or Professionalism minutes in Ontario.
